Thanks to a generous donation an almond grove was planted, consisting of 60 trees of the precious variety “Pizzuta di Avola“.
Also this year the seeding of ancient wheat varieties was carried out, namely our classic Scorzonera and the local Rosìa. In addition to two hectars of field benas and legumes in the plots sown with cereals last year, to allow the rest and revitalization of the soils (in compliance with the traditional technique of “agricultural rotation”).
The De Alimentaria Qualitate Consortium is carrying out the bread-making and pasta-making tests using the flour from our Scorzonera wheat, with promising results.
